We don't use crates any more. Bella never chewed anything in her crate that I can remember. I think she mostly was bored and fell asleep. Ripley was crated for about a week until I was sure he was potty trained and not destructive. He didn't like being crated at all and cried. Not knowing his past, I imagine maybe he had never been crated before and it upset him. One time I came home and noticed he had a tiny cut on his nose. I have no idea how he did managed to do that inside a crate.
