Oh Robin, I'm so sorry to hear about Katie's knee!!! When I first read your thread, I thought immediately of Phred and SmokeMutt I have no first hand experience dealing with a pup with luxating patella or CL ruputures. But Cody was dx with hip dysplasia at age 2, so I know how discouraging it is to have to deal with such issues at a young age, as well as weighing the pros and cons of sir jury. The good thing is she's only had the one episdoe since her first visit. If you don't feel you're getting all the info. you need to make an informed decision from your vet next visit, I'd definitely consider making an appt. with an orthopedic specialist, as Phred suggested.
