Why isn't is recommended to sedate them? I think I did the right thing though. He was cramped in a cat carrier for 12 hours and with people he hardly knew. The only comforts of home he had was a towel in his carrier. With the sedative I don't think he minded the trip as much as he would have, it also saved our ears from having to hear his crys the whole trip.
