Lucky, your story brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry that you had to endure such horrible beginnings, but am so thankful that such a wonderful family took you in to care for. I am glad that there are caring people out there who don't believe all animals are "a nuisance". Animals should be loved and cherished, but unfortunately so many people just don't get it. They don't know what they are missing in not having the love and companionship of a "fur kid", but also, they don't deserve to either.
