Hello MommaCat;
Read your story about Pumkin. By coincidence I had a Tom with the same name. I miss him too sometimes. He had to have his daily walk outside, and would only go out with me. After I got out of bed and started moving, he would be at the screendoor patiently waiting and giving me the stare treatment. I would open the door, and he would run down the steps, and we would walk around the house a few times. We would finish up with him stopping at his favorite grassy area so he could eat his greens for the day.To get him back inside, he would tease, I had to give him a light shove to get him moving and up the steps, and this was followed by swats and hissing and growling, he would put up this act until he finaly went back inside. He died of kidney complications. He was losing weight, and had obvious symtoms of kidney disease. I took him to the vet for tests, and the vet kept him for a few hours. After I got him home, he seemed OK, but went downhill. Had to take him back to the vets, where he had to be put to sleep. I didn't morn him long, I went up to the shelter and adopted Angel, and it's been love ever since...Hope you are adapting with your loss as well as I have mine
