Why would you need an hour or two to take him out in the middle of the night? You could set your alarm and wake up two hours after you go to bed, and, see if he's peed yet. Take him out, five minutes max. Go back to sleep. Set your alarm and wake up two hours after that, see if he's peed. Just to see when he's going to the bathroom at night. If he's going about three or four hours after you go to bed, just set your alarm to catch him before he goes. And, what are your thoughts on crate training?
