Unfortunately Cirrus was a very bad boy at the vets. Yesterday even though it was my vets day off, he went to give Cirrus his meds. Well Cirrus was very grumpy and scared and he struggled so much that he managed to get out of his e-collar and he jumped off of the exam table and bit my vets leg pretty badly. They had to give him a sedative to get the e-collar back on and give him his meds. When I came in to pick him up, my vet said "Killer's Mom is here". I think the whole office was glad to see him go.
When I got home, I put Cirrus in a small confined area in my bedroom. I bought a baby gate to block him in. Within minutes he managed to knock over the gate and escape into my bedroom. Now I'm forced to let him have free reign in my bedroom. The other 3 will have to learn to live out in the main part of my condo. I also had to move the other 2 litterboxes out there because Cirrus can only use yesterdays news litter in an opened litter pan. In fact he already peed in it. He's also finally let me pet him a little bit.
I'm very worried that he's going to get out of his e-collar because part of the string that's used to tie it around his neck is already hanging down. I hope I'll be able to wrap it around his neck or I may need to take him back to the vet again tomorrow so they can retie it. My vet only has this one type of e-collar. I'm also going to try to mix his meds in some c/d wet food that they gave me. I fed him some of the dry food tonight and he loves it.
I also can't believe how active Cirrus is. He's acting pretty normal except that he bumps into everything due to the e-collar. He's not supposed to run or jump and he's been doing both so far. I don't know how to stop him from doing this. Since he's not your normal mannered cat, he won't be going back to the vet until he gets his stitches out which won't be until Feb. 25th. I made the appointment for 9am which is the earliest that they have.
Please wish me luck.
