I have to agree, a phone call and a letter would definitely be in order - especially if he is just a partner and not sole owner of the clinic. Sounds like he just totally overdid it - after all, there was no reason to continue ranting once you got there after he had done it all on the phone.

I sure hope they find out what's wrong with Piper and that they do something to make you want to go back again - a refund on the extra fees, even if it's just a partial refund.

And I feel sorry for the girl that told you it was ok. If he's that way with a paying patient, what's he like with his office help?
