That's true, things were very different back then. There weren't as many animals in shelters, that's for sure. She's have maybe 15 or 20 dogs at a time. She'd have lots of small dogs and would often get litters of shih poos or pekignese mixes and such. She sold them for 20 each. Nowadays they could be sold for hundreds.
