Yes, they have many names...Queensland Heeler, Blue Heeler, Red Heler, Blueys, ect...but they were officially named Australian Cattle Dog by the AKC in the 80's I believe. They were originally bred in the mid 1800's by Australian cattle ranchers because they needed a breed that was strong, had stamina, could withstand heat and was territorial. They ended up crossing a dingo and an Aussie shepherd after tried and fails.Originally posted by ChewmonkeyBC
