I'll never be a show dog or earn an AFC
Although I am a Golden with a modest pedigree
My head is not quite right, they say, and I'm a little tall,
Instead of fetching birds up, I just bring my tennis ball.

But I'd rather have my sofa or my mom and daddy's bed
Than any fancy kennel and ribbons blue or red.
I'm just a family pet, it's true, but that's enough you see...
Because the love my humans give is prize enough for me.
