Peanut does that too, especially when she's on the bed. Her usual procedure in her new favorite place - her little faux sheepskin "carpet condom" - is to dig a bit, then bake bread with the cushy side of it for about a minute or so, then curl up into a tortellini and go to sleep. I think it would be impossible for her to sleep unless she went through this routine.
