I live in the dark ages, too, and by choice. Back in the early ninetees, John and I had a cell phone we shared, but we hardly ever used it and we could not even remember the number most times.
The only time I needed one, was when I missed a train and my BIL was going to pick me up at a station, but I found a pay phone. I refuse to run around with a cell phone in the street or on the bus/train. If something important comes up, people can ring me at home, or e-mail me.
It's literally impossible to speak to anyone you meet in the street these, they all have a device plugged into their ears. It must be uncomfortable!
