Maybe not but before 9/11 they said SS had an excess to keep it going for about 50 years or so. After 9/11 it was gone. I'm sure I don't know what they did with it but it went somewhere.

It went where "projections" always go, into the trash can or down to the market for use as fish wrapper.

Politicians lie. To each other, about each other, and against each other, especially when campaigning.

Long term economic projections are nice targets, but in reality they're useless.
