Genny, it shouldn't take more than a lesson or two, and don't be ashamed of learning if there are other people there. They likely won't pay any attention at all to what you folks are doing. And if anyone is, they will be proud of you for learning. It is no harder to learn as an adult than as a child, just don't let fear get in your way and you'll do fine!
