I have groomed several nineteen and twenty year old dogs ... and one that was barely twenty-one when she died. All of them poodles, incidentally. The difference though, was a that the dog I knew that was twenty-one was deaf, blind, completely incontinent, wore diapers, and lived in a crate. She should have been euthanized long before she died, IMO, she had no quality of life left.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam
"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
