The news is in and it is not good! I called my vets today - and surprise Dr. Freeman answered the phone - and to top that off, he said he had not seen anything come in but then fax machine started and here comes the report from the doctor who read the ultrasound - he said it is 3 pages long so he and Dr. James and Dr. Jones will talk but this is what he sees as to what is going to happen.

The mass is a tumor outside the kidney - most likely adenocarcinoma. With his age and the other things going against him (cysts on the other kidney), englarged prostate, we have only two options, do a treat-the-symptoms-as-they-come-up approach or remove the kidney & growth (after making sure the other kidney will support him). In this case he would also have to have chemo and/or radiation. There is a good chance he would even die on the table. So the vets will get together and let me know more of what to expect. It looks like even a biopsy will be ruled out unless we want to risk losing Jack as there are many things that could go wrong with were it is positioned and Jack's intolorance for sedation.

As of now I don't know if they will give me a time frame or not. But it looks like you all still get to keep praying.
