It's pretty safe, the only thing that stinks is sometimes people come back at you and say the item was never received and in some cases it's probably true but some people just do it too keep the item and re-sell it.

I've been lucky I've never ran into that problem yet. Other than the ebay fees and paypal fees it a pretty quick way usually to gain a few extra bucks.
