It's basically just like Bag Balm. It's a thick waxy cream that you put on the dog's paws before they out in the snow. It protects the pads a bit and prevents snow build-up. Mushers use it to prevent snowballs while the dogs are working. I find cheap ol' Vaseline works just as well!
