I did have an offer from the Lumpkin Shelter - I spoke to a lady there, and she said to make sure the family talks to HER - they could TEMPORARILY surrender Reggie, Reggie would get a complete check with their vet and shots, and then they could adopt Reggie back for $85.

I think that was a really good offer, as she was making exceptions to their policy. But Collin's parents did not find out, as he did not tell them. (and that meant he might have to tell them someone else called the shelter...from Canada, yet. Could be nasty.)

And ONE NOTE, if I remember right...Collin said he was getting $500 after the fair at the end of the month, and that his parents were taking Reggie to the vet.

I hope he's able to cancel the computer order, as he indicated it was non-refundable.

Also, his parents had booths at the fair. Rental for these can be very expensive...and you have to hope you make enough to pay the rent and power(if you are cooking hot dogs, you gotta hook up gas or electricity).

I do think Collin should have waited til the fair was over before he ordered...but that's hindsight now.

At this point, Reggie is not having problems. I suggest - JMO - that we drop this whole thing.

If you think everything Collin posts is BS, then stop posting on his thread and replies.

Neither my post - nor any others - are going to change the facts of the matter.
Eesh, guess I'm not too good at staying away from threads that get my goat.

Candace, I know you are a very caring person and I respect everything you did for Briana and can see you're trying to do the same here. You have a good heart.

But, I have to say what I think, and if I think his posts and actions are BS, then yes, I will say so, to inform others of information I have gained, and, as we all live in hope, to shock Collin to the reality of the situation. Don't know if the latter will happen, though, sad to say.

Another thing I don't understand is they evidently had money enough to rent a booth, and if that's as expensive as you imply it is, surely that would have covered at least a check-up?

Plus, Collin said his family was expected to make about $1500 at this fair, $500 of which would be his; I just don't see how one can get absolute zilch when the expectations were so high.

The shelter idea is a good one though, and it's great that the shelter are prepared to bend the rules. I hope Collin realises how fortunate he is to have a) a 'stranger' from another country prepared to sort his business out for him and b) such a good opportunity to treat Reggie. I think if he takes it, it'll prove whether he actually cares for the dog, or not.
