How horrible! OK, like what kind of response is "you shouldn't have gotten involved" from Animal Control?? Jeez, I thought most of the cases that animal control gets is from concerned people who witness horrible things, and I thought it was their duty and/or the duty of the police to take care of such things. It sounds like these people shouldn't even have a dog because they are NOT responsible...and even worse...could care less about the actions of their dog against neighbors...unprovoked!! That is rediculous! People (and animals) shouldn't have to suffer from the acts...or lack thereof...of unresponsible and careless pet owners.
These people definitely need more than a slap on the wrist, but they should have to pay for all the damage done to the poor family with the baby (all the extra expenses for child care and doctor's appts for the broken wrist, etc.) and should also have their animal taken away. How awful...
