PetsRule, I'm sorry your dog is gone. There are several things you can do.

Contact your local police department.

Call animal control and all animal shelters within a 30 mile radius (dogs can travel far in little time, if they have a motive).

If your animal control are anything like the one near me, you have to call animal control EVERY day. Some of them just don't care enough, they'll put them down without even calling you.

Contact all vets you know of.

Place an ad in the newspaper, give a fairly good description, but be sure to leave out one good thing about your dog, (like he has a scar under his right front leg, or he has one blue eye and one brown eye) so that you can prove the dog is yours.

What kind of breed is your dog? Try contacting any breed rescues in your area.

Make up flyers and put them up in the grocery store, video store, drug store, anywhere you can thing of!

Don't give up hope! Some dogs will disappear and come back a year later! Good luck!
