They did not do the FIP test, Dr. Lehr said the accuracy of the test was less than 40%, and that if she got pregnant from an intact FIP+ male, that chances are it would not show up anyways, I doubt she has FIP, and so did the doctor. I am going to just keep an eye on her. But all seems well now.

Things like FIP, FIV, FELV don't show up on any test until 3 or more months since exposure anyway, so your vet was correct in not doing the test immediately and saved you some money (some vets would have done it anyways because the client asked for it, and gotten possibly a false sense of security).

FIP is rather uncommon around here for the most part, although the few that we've had seem to all come from the same area in the country. The FIP test is testing for the corona virus, however it can show a positive if the cat is carrying the virus but isn't suffering from it. So it can still be a guessing game as to whether the cat actually has it or not. Unfortunately veterinary medicine still hasn't figured out how to 100% test for everything out there yet.
