Try not to worry. Usually kittens are so active that they don't like being held and they'll only sit in your lap if they're tired. My Pearly girl is finally starting to enjoy being held but only for a few minutes at a time and she'll be 2 in May. I think that Jake is a cutie pie no matter what breed he is.
