Eric, My method has been pretty much like SASVERMONT. As several have said, animals don't see death as we do, and are not afraid. When we had Teddy euthanized in mid-July my husband really fought me on it. Finally I said, "Teddy does not have to make piece with God or anyone else. He is ready and in pain. We will be with him to the end, and what more can we do?" I was ever so grateful for the 15 years he shared with us, and could not bear to see him in pain. My heart goes out to you. You will know WHEN.

Sounds like Puddy will be fine and will have a new home, and that is just wonderful. What a wonderful and caring man you are nice man you are!
