Nope, "its" doesn't use an apostrophe because then it would be the same word as the contraction. Also it's a pronoun when used that way and you don't say "her's" you say hers. Hard to explain . Ok, that's what I was thinking...but, it gets weird. I remember that exception to the rule now, as far as possessive words using the apostrophe. I'll have to try to remember that it doesn't apply to pronouns. Thanks, man, I knew someone would be able to explain it, I shoulda know it would be you!
