How strict? REAL Strict!!
The local Sheriff Department Road Patrols are contracted by the Parks Dept to
enforce the rules - which includes checking for "Parking Passes"!
On weekends, a Deputy in a marked cruiser usually makes a pass through the
Bark Park parking lot every two hours ... no "Pass" on the window or mirror -
and he'll get out and write a TICKET - which costs a LOT more than a Daily Pass!
Posted Prices:
Motor Vehicle Day Use Fees
Valid at Addison Oaks, Groveland Oaks, Independence Oaks, Lyon Oaks,
Orion Oaks and Rose Oaks.
$5 per car per day: Oakland County resident discount rate
$10 per car per day: Regular rate (OUT-of-County vehicles)
$3 per car per day (weekday only): Senior Citizen
$7 per vehicle after 5:00 p.m.: Special Fireworks Fee
Last few years, on weekends, there has always been a Park Employee sitting in a vehicle
at the Parking Lot Entrance - who greets every car that doesn't have a Yearly Pass.
The "advertised cost" of an OUT-of-County car Daily Use Pass is $10.00 -
BUT for the last three years the guy has ALWAYS accepted a $5.00 bill as payment.
Give him $5.00 and he gives you a Hang-Tag for your mirror -
insures that the Partol Deputy drives past without writing a Ticket!
If you don't want to pay the $5.00 fee - you can get away with parking in the
Elementary School Parking Lot - across the road and north about 1/4 mile -
on the right (east side) of Joslyn Road.
Park in a MARKED parking spot - NOT on the grass or on the driveway!!
The walk-in gate to the Bark Park is across the road from the School.
Best place to "meet" is inside the Bark Park - at or near the "Water Pump" -
located between the two main areas of the Bark Park.
