I don't always agree with PITA but yes these things really go on.

Just make sure if you are becoming a vegatarian because of the cruilty to animals that you may as well become a vegan. Egg farms, milking farms (for milk, cheese, cream, yougurt, all dairy products) etc.. can be just as cruel if not worse.
