My 1½ year old Irish Setter/Black Lab mix loves to steal ointment. Her favorite is antibiotic ointment. She got a hold of anti-hemmoroidal cream one time and that stuff really made her feel bad. I had to call the poision control center about it, they said she hadn't consumed enough to be hurt by it, but it sure did give her a belly ache. She'll chew up and eat pretty much anything in a tube, except toothpaste. She'll also tear up garbage bags and get all of the old food out of it. Another thing she'll take is things like phones, television remotes, guitar tuners, etc. I'm hoping one day she'll grow out of this, but it's not looking like it. It doesn't matter- I'll love her no matter what. Besides, when we come home, it's EXPECTED of her to have chewed something.
