I heard a man interviewed on TV tonight. He said he will protect his cat and his home and not leave. My heart goes out to him and all pet owners who will not abandon their pet family members.

Murray and I feel had we been made to choose, we could never leave our darling Sasha to fend for herself.

Our hope is many pets will be rescued and returned to their people and if that cannot be, then adopted by others who will cherish them.

Katrina's destruction is so terrible and it is heart-breaking to see people in such a dire situation. We know that Americans will pull together and get through this. It comforts us to know Canada and Canadians are responding to our sister country.
