I think a lot of them changed their names for the stage. Many of the foreign actors/actresses were encouraged to take "American" sounding names. Muhammad Ali changed his name when he converted to Islam; same with Cat Stevens. Hulk Hogan and the Undertaker are wresters; 'nuff said.
