Tonight Murray and I had dinner at a local Chinese restaurant. Murray's fortune cookie said:
We hope this means we will learn our Sasha is winning her battle against lymphoma! You will be receiving very good news in the next few days.
Sasha developed a UTI and is now taking antibiotics. This means our little pussycat is on the following medications:
Leukeran [Chemo] every other day
Prednisone 5mg once a day
Novo-Spiroton [Spironolactone] 6.25mg [diuretic] twice a day
Clavamox 62.5mg twice a day
Felovite II [vitamin paste, tastes like tuna]
Quite a bunch of meds for one little 8 lb. pussycat! Sasha's veterinarian is on holiday outside Canada for two weeks; however, she is being closely monitored by her purrents and by the veterinarian-oncologist. Since Sash now has the antibiotic Clavamox added yesterday the specialist has changed her chemo from every other day to one treatment every third day.
Sasha hates the Novo-Spiroton which is verrry minty. It is the hardest one to get her to swallow. We give her a little bit of Felovite II right after she swallows this, which helps calm her. And, we give her a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream...her favourite treat (right after her home-made chicken bits).
That is where we stand right now. We are focusing on our Sasha regaining her health and beating the cancer.
Thank you for your kindness. What would we do without the support of the fine people and wonderful pets in this Forum? I don't think we could cope without you pulling for Sasha.
