I would say to be patient too. I've had smitten for about 3 years before she met Patches. Patches was only about a year, but we had to take care of her for a few months. We put her in a carrier and put her on the floor for Smits to smell and what not. She wasn't happy. It took a ltitle while but they got used to each other. Smitten always seemed a little annoyed with Patches, but they seemed like good buds. Atleast patches though so, she never left her side.
