Okay, I was thinking about Nala and her hot spot a minute ago, and I said to myself, "oh yeah, I have that Dog Owner's Home Vet Handbook, I bet that has something to say about treatment for hot spots!"

Anyway....
Here's what it says....

Gently cleanse the skin with a dilute povidone-iodine shampoo (Betadine) or a chlorhexidine shampoo (Nolvasan). Allow thw skin to dry. Then apply an antibiotic steriod cream (Panolog or Neocort) twice a day for 10 to 14 days.

I have no idea what all of these medications are, and I'm not sure if you do or not, but I really hope this helps!
Kisses to you, Nala!
