My choice for a pet has always been a cat, partly because I love them and partly because they seem to be very much in tune and compatible with my lifestyle.

However, I have known many dogs that I just loved. We always had both growing up on the farm, and they always got along. The big shepard-collie mix dog would be the best "cat bed" in the winter, they would all pile up around him and on top of him--- an interesting patchwork quilt of dog and kitty fur.
