Pennies From Heaven....

I think I posted about this before but I couldn't find it so I thought I would post again....
My cousin and I "invented" this thing about 20 years ago. We used to get so sad when we would see "roadkill", dead animals along the side of the road.... So one day after seeing a cat lose it's life , we made up this ritual....everytime we see a "pet" passed away along the side of the road, we throw a penny out the window. I say, "Good luck in heaven little one" everytime. We have only been doing it for "pets" meaning cats and dogs....it loses it's meaning if you do it for wild animals but you can make up your own saying or ritual and use our idea if you want....I'm sure we are not the only ones to think of this...

The cars behind us probably hate me!! I try to throw the penny close to the ground but......It's the thought that counts right....?

I do this everytime I see a pet lost on the road...I even make others driving do it, including bus drivers and taxi drivers! I can't sleep unless I do it...it may mean nothing but it means a lot to me.
