Mine very slightly from the African Giant's. Their diet is a little different as she eats rotten leaves, fruit, and veggies. Millie loves rotten food! Her staple diet is leaf litter. The mites usually do not leave the millipedes, or so it seems. I've never seen one stray from her yet. She is currently in a ten gallon tank with Bed of Beast as the substrate, as they need soil. I pour water on the soil once a day and mist the tank once a day as well. They need moisture to survive. We're still uncertain what species she is. I am trying to find that out right now.
As far as how I can tell she is female, she does not have grasping legs like males do. On the 7th segment on millipedes, males legs look a bit different than the females. So yes, she is female. Now to find her a mate, as I would like to breed.![]()
Currently she is hiding under the soil so when I find her again I will take her out and count her legs.![]()
