    New Cat in the House

Hello I'm new here and just had to write. I have1 male dog 13 YOA 3 cats one male 4 YOA and 2 females, one 7 YOA and 3 YOA for the most part they all get along fine. Well long story short, my friend got sick, and I now have his 2 year old male cat.
My guestion is I had Baliey (new cat) litter box and food in another room. Its been a week now so I put food along side the others in the kitchen. They get along ok. No fighting at all. But they just stare at him. My male cat (Waldo the king of the house) can't speak (never could) so he will hiss once and a while. Well Waldo has his chair that he sleeps in, well looks like BALIEY just found it and is sleeping on his chair. Now WALDO walks around looking like HELLO WHAT"S UP WITH THAT?
Do I move Baliey off the chair, or leave well enough alone?

    Thnak you all

Welcome to Pet Talk. With cats, leave well enough alone. Bailey has found the spot of the Alpha and is trying to claim it for himself. He may or may not win. The outcome only matters to the cats in the house, and it is not always the one who is there first nor the eldest. The staring sounds perfectly normal. That, and I bet they follow the new guy around a lot too. If there is no serious fighting, then just go with the flow. The cats will work it out.
Are you able to post some pictures for us so we can see your kitties?

Jen is right. Unless there's blood being shed, it's best to leave well enough alone. In time, the new cat will figure out his place in the regime of kitties.

An update on my cats, the male cats seems to get along fine. One female (who might be the same age as Bailey) she is not happy with him. Alot of fur flying! I thought the males would not along, but Bella is not a happy camper. Question was does she seek him out, he will be sitting (and she will come up behind him and jump on him)
    hummmmmmmmmmm
    Any one have this problem
