I hope the others start to feel soon asap!
Just a side note - that maybe poor Storm has diarrhea is from the antibiotic and no amount of kaopectate will work. I was on 2000mg of Augmentin for 10 days a year and half ago and I had diarrhea that was awwwfffuuullllllll, I was in misery, and I literally took a whole box of Immodium and it didn't even phase it, it just had to leave my system. I didn't think I would ever feel better.
    Gentle scritches to the boys...

Yogurt - when you're on antibiotics, eat yogurt. Give it to the cats, also. The antibiotics kill both the bad - and good - bacteria. The Lactic Acidophilus in the yogurt, will help prevent that.

Yes, I know this but unfortunately Storm won't eat it.

I'm back from VSA and Storm now has his stitches out and his e-collar off. He's so much happier and much more comfortable. He was such a good boy in the car and only cried a little bit to and from VSA. It was about 30 minutes both ways. He also waited until he got home to take a big pee in his litter box.

The surgeon said that he looks very good and that I should continue the antibiotics even though Storm is still having diarrhea. He'll also need to have another unrinalysis in the future to make sure that his infection is all cleared up. She said that if he has future UTI's that he should be on a different antibiotic that he's less sensitive to so hopefully he won't have diarrhea so badly.

I just need to stick it out until Monday. I decided to keep him in his cage so I can monitor him more closely. He'll hopefully begin to have firmer stools a few days after his meds are stopped. I hope he'll decide to eat more now that he's more comfortable. Thanks again for all of your concerns.

Yeah!!! No e-collar and no stitches. Boy I'll bet you feel soooo much better Storm. I sure wouldn't like to walk around with a cone...

Glad to hear that he continues to improve. Hopefully those tootsie rolls will be more firmer as the days pass by. Please pass on kisses to your furfamily and more {{{HUGS}}} from me.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Storm has got to feel better now that he has that collar off! Please pass on my scritchies and good wishes to the gorgeous boy! I'm sure you are both looking forward to the last of the antibiotic.

I'm so glad to hear things are improving for Storm! I know he feels 100% better just getting that collar off.

{{{hugs}}} to you Tracey, and to the whole gang. Hopefully this will all be just a bad memory real soon.

Thanks again everyone. Storm's so much happier and is also eating much better now too. I noticed that on the side of neck he has a red owie bald spot. The e-collar must have been rubbing him here. Now he's on the mend though and should be back to his old self in time for my birthday. This will be the best gift that I will get this year.

I guess that E-collar would reduce my appetite too. So glad it is off and he is feeling better

Any update? How are you doing? The fur-kids?

    Latest Update

Hi everyone. Both Storm and I are doing well. Storm's almost back to normal and I my cold is almost gone too. Storm's eating very well and peeing well but still has a little diarrhea. Today is his last day for meds so both of us are looking forward to this. Depending on his diarrhea, I'll probably let him roam free by Wed. or Thurs. Thanks again for all of your concerns.

Phew- I am relaxing my fingers a little so that the cramp can go- but I still keep them crossed a little.
