"does your pet ruin expensive things?"

Since I have a pet, I choose not to invest in things that I might worry about her ruining. Most of my stuff is second-hand (that's why they call me, Second-Hand Rose!). She has ruined a couple of loveseats and she is working on my easy chair...but I do put more value on having my kitty than on having and preserving my furniture. Luckily, though, she is not majorly into scratching, especially now that she is getting older (?). Could that be a factor?

I couldn't help but laugh when I read that poll. Things have gotten better, but my dogs have ruined so many things over the years.

I swear they know what I am saying too. Just last night, my husband and I were admiring the sleeping dogs, talking about how much they've matured. We were discussing how they've been sleeping inside with all sorts of temptations yet they haven't touched anything in months. We were so proud that they'd finally gotten to that point. We were talking about extending their privledges more now that we can trust them.

Well, lo and behold, I woke up this morning to a disaster. The same room they've slept in for months and they destroyed it right after our conversation! All the shoes were off the shelf and scattered throughout the room. The cushions were off the couch, a pillow was chewed up, towels were strewn all over (where did those come from?!)... I hurried up and cleaned up the mess before hubby woke up. I didn't want him to change his mind about giving them more inside privledges.

My rats have chewed on my bed sheets, curtains, and shower curtain. Sammy ruined the nose of my $80 yellow lab statue- he thought it would make a great teething toy. My $110 Ariat riding boots are pretty much trashed from getting stomped on 30+ times a day by 50 horses at horse camp for 9 weeks straight- haha. Oh well, I love the animals too much to care.

The rabbits haven't destroyed anything- amen!

lol...if you count tree ornaments to be expensive you should have asked if your pets ruin things that are of sentimental value..Buster has ruined a ceramic bunny that my mom's friend gave me to me when I was 5 so I had to throw it away but I kept the bow for keeps that was on it and make sure he can't get it and Buster also chewed the nose off of my teddy bear I've had all of my life and the bow another time but I still have him..

hmm well that would defiantly be a yessss... althou I think its my fault she is used to me being around more and when I'm not she lets me know she is not happy that I'm gone by eating my four brand new couches.. don't know what else she could have chewed up that would have added up to more money... other than that my dog is a sweet loveable puppy..

I think I win for one of the most expensive. Autumn ruined the carpet in a room that she was in by scratching at the door. She was kenneled in the room during a party and she got her kennel undone. She's smart enough to figure out that if she jumps in the kennel hard enough the screws pull out of the plastic, she'd been doing this since she was a few months old. Anyway, completely totaled the carpet and we had to get new stuff. Now she has a fifty pound bag of dog food on top of her kennel.
