The Benedryl has taken down the snout swelling. The Benedryl seems to work better than the Baytril and Pred. I have the air on today too and he seems much happier. If it is a sinus infection, I'm sure no air conditioning only aggravated it. I'm looking into the colloidal silver. I'd at least like to give it a try.

Pepper, you didn't have on the a/c? Even if I don't need it (and I usually don't) I have it on for the dogs (pampered pups). Shiloh huffs and puffs as soon as it gets a little warm out! LOL Let me know about what you find on colloidal silver. I'm really interested in it for Killi. Good luck. Glad to hear the Benedryl helped.

Blood and pus coming from the nose when there is such severe eye problems is not unusual. There is a small opening between the eye socket and the nasal canal that can allow fluids to seep through. Has the swelling reduced at all? Keep us posted and good luck.

    Pepper,
I hope you will have some good news to report on Bourbon soon. I don't have any good advice, but it looks like you have been loaded with good information here.
Good luck, and let us know how he is doing. I'll add him to my prayer list.

Nothing worse, maybe a hair better. After researching colloidal silver more, I decided to wait. I believe surgery will be necessary, since all of this medication is really holding it where it's at, not making it better. I'll let you know; it's scheduled for August 1 in the morning. Hopefully, we'll make it through this and will know just what we're fighting. I'm praying it's just a severe sinus infection, but I'm worried that it's some kind of tumor. The only thing that keeps me going is the way it began, like a bee sting or spider bite, then it progressed from there. Thanks for all your posts and insights. They are much appreciated.

I haven't posted due to this being such a hard topic for me to read and think about because of a tumor one of my previous dogs had. I am checking in to see what the progress is and praying for a accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

I wish I had some answers, but I don't, only much compassion for you and Bourbon.

What kind of dog is Bourbon and how old is he?

Bourbon is a GSD/Whippet or Greyhound cross. He's 12-1/2 years old but acts much younger. I've known him since he was 2 weeks old and have had him since he was 4 weeks old. He's my baby boy.
