What Your Cat Is Trying to Tell You

Now that you can interpret what your dog is saying, how about your cat?
Takara Co, a major Japanese toy maker, said on Wednesday it would launch a device called the "Meowlingual" that can interpret a cat's meow, hoping to repeat its success with the "Bowlingual," a dog translation device.

Takara said the Meowlingual, a palm-sized electronic console that displays the interpreted phrase on a screen, will be priced at 8,800 yen ($74.62) and it would aim to sell 300,000 units by the end of March 2004.

Takara has sold about 300,000 dog translation devices in Japan since last year and plans to launch an English-language product in the U.S. market in August for about $120.

It has already rolled out the product in South Korea. The news hoisted Takara shares, which rose 5.68 percent to 781 yen by the midsession close.


I wonder how on earth they do that? Any ideas?

After you've "translated" their sounds, do you then have to "interpret" them?

Yeah I read about this! Hmmmm makes me think what shall I do this month, pay the mortgage, or buy a cat translator!! And how on earth can you get a cat to speak into a microphone. Mine won't even sit on command.....

Wow, there's a dog translator out??? I never even knew. I'm sure if I told Kai to bark on command, it would mean "GIVE ME THAT TREAT NOW!!!!"

I'm not sure I really want to know what my pets are saying.
"Buy me different food"
"Take me out NOW"
" MOVE I want to sit there"
"Mom' tell the others to leave me alone....I want to sleep"
"Make that Kitten stop playing with my tail"
"Feed me Feed me Feed me Feed me"
"Pet me pet me pet me"
And that I already know they are saying.

It would be nice to hear "I love you" though, even though I already know that too. That's shown in other ways without a translator.

So I think I"lltake the money and buy them a toy or two instead.

And are you sure they can translate international cats or just Japanese?????
