I hope both of them continue to respond to the shot and the antibiotics. As for Tibby, now you just realize she really is a 'special' cat, and adjust accordingly!! It sure does explain things. And, you now have a chance to look around you and see what might not be workable, from a vision impaired perspective. Good Luck, UBA!

I think I might have to take Corkscrew back to the vet tomorrow. He's so much worse now than he was this morning. I think now that the anti-inflamatory shot has worn off he's feeling horrible. He's been so congested, he's having a hard time breathing. I feel so bad because there really isn't too much I can do for him. I don't think he's sick enough to go to the emergency vet, so if he's not doing better in the morning we are back to the vets office.

Oh no poor Corkscrew. Yes, I think that you should at least call the vets and let them know that he seems to be getting worse. Since he weighs a lot more than Tibby he may not be getting enough medicine for his weight. This happened to me with my RB Pepper. All 3 of my cats came down with URI and Pepper got worse instead of better because he weighed more and wasn't getting enough medicine. Prayers and positive thoughts are on the way for a full recovery for both Tibby and Corkscrew.

BTW didn't Corkscrew have something similar to FIP? If he did then maybe his immune system isn't as strong as a normal cats. I'd also ask the vet about this. Good luck.

Corkscrew has a coronavirus. The vet and I discussed it when I was there yesterday, and he's also getting almost twice as much medicine as Tibby is. I fed them an extra can of wet food today since they weren't eating as much dry food as normal. They ate it so fast!! I also put both of them in the bathroom with my humidifer to help losen up some of the mucus and stuff, and it seems to work a little. Corkscrew seems to be breathing a little better and he's taking a nap now. But I have a feeling in the morning he's just going to be like he has been today and I'll have to take him in. I just hate seeing him in all this discomfort.

Corkscrew is not feeling well at all today. I feel so bad and I don't really know what to do. I called my vet this morning and the only avaliable times they had open are times where there is no way possible for me to get him there. Corkscrew has been hiding under the bed all day which is not at all normal for him. For as long as I've had him he's never hidden under the bed. I also can't get him to eat very much today. I set up an appt. for tomorrow morning, but I don't know if I should wait until then or take him to the emergency vet tonight. The problem with the emergency vet is that it is very expensive and I being a 21 year old college student large amounts of money are hard to come by. They don't do any sort of financing, everything has to be paid on the spot and I just don't have that kind of money.

I'm so sorry to hear that Corkscrew seems to be getting worse. Since your appointment is for tomorrow morning, I'm sure he'll be okay until then. I sure hope the vet will be able to help him so he can begin his road to recovery. Prayers and positive thoughts are on the way.

So back to vet this morning for me and Corkscrew. He was looking better this morning than he has the past two days, but he still wasn't doing to well. He was a good boy at the vet, even though he had to get some shots. The vet gave him an antibiotic shot and another anti-inflamatory, he also sent me home with a decongestant. So hopefully he'll feel better soon, right now the main concern is that I can get him to eat. I fed him some canned food a little while ago and he wouldn't eat, so I guess I'll try again later today. Tibby seems to be enjoying all this canned food that has been around the last few days! I think once the decongestant kicks in Corkscrew will want to eat, right now I don't think he can smell his food which is why he won't eat.

I am glad Corkscrew was a tiny bit better and the visit to the vet went well and got him some more treatment. Hope the medication, and especially the decongestant, have started to work by now and Corkscrew is feeling better and is beginning to eat. Prayers and positive thought sent for a speedy recovery for both your furbabies. (How is Tibby today?)

Poor things! Its no fun being sick and having to go to the white coats.

Have I ever told you that you're a great kitty meowmie??? You are. I love that you set up the humidifier for them, how nice!!

Well I was just trying to do what I did a few weeks ago when I had a URI. It was also scary seeing him with his mouth wide open gasping for air. He had snot bubbling out of his nose (and at least when I'm sick I have kleenex). His eyes were so watery, and there really wasn't much I could do about it. So I figured the humidifer would work.
Tibby is doing well she's still a little sneezy but other than that she's fine. Corkscrew still hasn't eaten, but he's been sleeping a lot now that he can breathe. I think the shots really helped him.
Oh and the vet techs and vet got a good laugh when they asked if he'd been acting differently and I said "yes, he hasn't bitten me in two days so I know something must be wrong." When I left they said that they hope he gets back to bitting me again soon.

Yay!!! Corkscrew is eating!! I think it's a good sign, I haven't seen him really eat more than a few licks of wet food in 2 days. Right now he's wolfing down the canned food!

This is wonderful news!! I'm so glad to hear that he's eating. This is also a great sign that he's feeling better so I'm sure he's now on the road to recovery.
