The cows stand like cut paper figures
    Or solid ceramic statues
    Starkly black and white
    Against the verdant spring landscape
    Pulsing with green life
The red-orange of the barn stands
Amidst the green of trees and field
In bright contrast saying "man is here,"
But the rich colors make it not industrial
    But a fitting accompaniment
To the nature that that surrounds
    But does not overwhelm it
    And the cows?
    They are not impressed,
    Just standing, grazing
    In bovine stolidness
    On a bright spring day

Amazing as usual Kirsten. I just love the first picture, something about it that makes it stand out. All of the pictures are awesome, thanks so much for sharing your talent with us.
So many things pop into my head as I look at each picture, the beauty expressed with each is breathtaking.

Some day we should do a show or a book!

I'll do another one later today - I try to just do one per day so I get other things done as well!

    Intricate and delicate beyond belief
Wings that Tiffany glassmakers would envy
    Perched light amidst the grasses
    Unnoticed by passerby
    But a wonder of creation
    No engineer could dare replicate
    Spun from matter so small
    Only nature could handle
Colors subtle and varied past expectation
    Beauty captured in an instant

Karen and Kirsten, yes, you should do a show AND/or a book!!!!!

I'm putting in my order for the book now and I don't care about the price! Kirsten, you have done it again! Your photography is nothing short of art, always stunning beauty no matter what you're shooting. In your hands a camera works magic.

It's hard to pick a favorite but I love the one with the ladybug. The waterfall in the woods makes me feel like I'm actually there. Have you ever considered teaching photography?

As always, thank you for giving us an extraordinary treat! Lovies to Liliy and Luna

PS: You have quite a handsome nephew

    Deep in the forest
Away from the sounds of the city
    Far enough, anyway
Stop a moment and listen to
The age-old music of water falling over stones
Feel the damp air, ripe with life and pollen
Listen to the songs of bird unseen
As they flit from tree to tree above head
    Revel for a moment
    In things eternal and fleeting
The quiet hum and buzz of insects
A forest stream reflecting the dark woods
    And filtered light
    Sparkling, singing undisturbed
    By our wondering observation

Ahh, Karen, so nice... You always seem to capture the essence of my pictures and put it in beautiful words! I think it would really be nice if we could have a book of our pictures and poems... Too bad that it would be so expensive printing it.

Ahh, no, no way... That would take much more than the few things I'm doing; actually I know very little about all the technical stuff...

Thanks! I'm glad he's letting me now taking pictures of him (he used to run away from my camera when he was younger). Now I'm planning a photo session with him and his girl friend.

    Elegant curves
    Sprung from an architect's mind
Clean and graceful arc across the space
Lines in harmony, strong and delicate at once
    Capture in a camera's instant
All in harmony, line and tone and form
Purity and elegance only marred by
    The inelegant, asymmetrical humans
Arranged between and across lines and spaces
    Ironically the ones for whom
And by whom this pristine space
    Was deigned to serve
    And to impress

Beautiful words to describe the building, Karen! I really like the lines and curves in this picture. But now that I know that it's forbidden in shopping malls to take pictures, I don't think I will ever do that again.

BTW, I ordered a new tele lens today. It's an early birthday/Christmas present. Actually I wanted to wait until December, but when I took pictures with my old tele lens today, I was so unhappy with the outcome that I asked my mom if it's okay to order it now. I hope the new one will be much better!
