**excuse me while I take wipe my drool off the monitor**

Any chance I can be part of the "surf crew"???
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

    Hi Y'all.

    Sorry I have been absent.

The Great Wind Storm of August has left us w/o power for the better part of two days so far.

At the moment there are a whole fleet of Louisville Power Co trucks on the street.

Hopefully the power will be up in the next hour?

I'll be back to fill orders in a bit!

I do so love real tomatoes from local farms or the garden in summer! There's nothing better. It's pouring rain here today, does that count as having cooled down?

Anyone else want a tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil sandwich?

Silver Queen corn - now I'm really drooling!

Drying out here after Sunday's Monsoon - nearly 6" of rain in as many hours - yet 15 miles to the south only got about an inch - go north and some places got 10". The ground was like walking on a wet sponge. We needed the rain, but moderation would have been nice too.

Headed to Baltimore shortly - I'll wave to Maggie as I drive by. Anyone care for a bagel with cream cheese before I hit the road?

Unfortunately I'm doing a doctor appointment for lunch (12:45) - in Timonium actually. And I'll have my grandson with me too. We really do have to get together soon tho!

Actually, it is a lovely day for August in Chicago-- sunny, not too humid, high 84F-- and I'm stuck inside.
Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!

It is a lovely California day - clear skys - that beautiful blue color - and no wind - very peaceful day.

Now wouldn't some silver queen corn hit the spot? And an honest to gosh tomato - what a concept - I didn't think they even made them anymore!!!

Since Slick is all over Wom without his shirt - I will just leave it alone

    I don't do ironing anyway!!

    Hey everyone,

Had a day filled with fun and work.

    Gini,

I do miss the 'dry heat' of Cali, and spent the day cleaning up some of the branches that were left over from last Saturday's storm.

I thought about your tree as I chopped up wood and tore apart branches.

And did you have a milt julep as a reward for your efforts?

No, I have yet to sample a Kentucky Bourbon.

When I do, I'll post about it!

    ---------------------

One of the wonders of the area is the weather.

I have to apologize to everyone for being so flip about CA weather compared to what the rest of the country.

I humbly realize that not every day is 80 degrees, sunny and a deep blue sky.

(Gini, it is a culture shock!)

    I stand corrected.
