    i *think* mickey is sick...

and i'm actually a little bit worried. he has a runny nose and hasn't been his usual, jumpy, hyper self lately. he sleeps a lot and hasn't really eaten and cried a little but i'm not sure if that was for another reason. is there anything i can do to help? i'm sure it's just a small cold but i really wanna help the little guy. thx

Poor Mickey. He probably just has a cold, but with young puppies it can really be a worry. I'd take him to the vet asap and have it checked out. Nebo had a runny nose, eye infection, and sore throat when he was younger...how fun (and expensive) for me.

I agree that you should take him to the vet as soon as you can!

    I hope its nothing serious.

    thanks

we e-mailed the breeder (because she told us she'de rather us e-mail her instead of worrying) and this is what she said:

Dogs don't get colds like people do so its probably nothing. Sounds more like an allergy to something, and they usually get over it in a short period.
Just make sure that he still is eating & playing normally.

    interesting. he's fine now, though

I so empathize with you!! When we got Malone at first I worried all the time. Watch his poops & eating habits (when something is wrong, those are the first to show it) and if he is so lethargic that he doesn't want to wake up. And if you get worried, just call your vet and tell them what is going on, and they can usually give you peace of mind about it. Hope this helps, and don't worry!!!!!

no, it wasn't green. it was kinda watery and clear. he didn't have one today though.

thanks. mention a few more sicknesses to worry me more, why don't you? JK thanks for your help. he's okay though. today he was jumpy like himself and has been eating. his poop is normal. all is well and i hope it stays that way

I am glad he is feeling better but so everyone knows telling a dog is sick because he has a wet or dry nose is a myth! Of course the nose will be wet if the dog is hot (it sweats from ther) and it may be dry because it is dry in the house or whatever. Being that your dog was not acting "his ussual self" is an indecation it is sick you can also tell by what color the gums are, how is eating habits are & by taking temeratre. But never think your dog is sick because he has a wet/dry nose.

thanks for the info but i didn't say his nose was either wet or dry. just that it was running.
