Nothing to do with dogs, but we need help.

Ok, guys, Mike and I need your help. I know this is a dog post, but we couldn't think of a more diverse group of people than our little group.

Here's the question. If anyone on here could get a dial-up internet service for 16.95 a month with .95 going to help animal rescues and unlimited email (I thought they were all unlimited) and unlimited access, would anyone here think that was a good deal and be willing to try it out?

Sorry, I know I kind of crossed the line, but didn't know where else to go.

Thanks for being patient with me!!

Ok, I'm going to be the skeptic. Is there *proof* that the money would indeed go to help the animals?

Well we pay $20.00 per month for unlimited e-mail(never heard of limited e-mail) and 200 hours of Internet Service per month. This is also dial-up Internet. And nothing goes to the dogs

No need to be skeptical. We are thinking about starting an internet service, so I GUARENTEE the money would go to shelters in need. We just don't know if we can get enough people to sign up. I do understand the skepticism...I would be too. We found out that we can have people from all over the country be on our "company" so it wouldn't have to be just a local provider. We were trying to think how we could incorporte helpin the dogs and own this thing too.

Sorry to bug everyone about this, but I know I can trust you guys to be honest with me.

    Thanks!!

    One other question...

What would the connection speed be?

Well, Mugsy, I think that is a terrific and noble idea!! I am on a cable modem though, and don't really have any desire or need to go back to a dial up. BUT, I do give generously to many different animal rescue organizations.

Hope it works out for you!

$16.95 sounds high to me... but I currently have Juno for $4.95 a month, unlimited. However, I want to drop them because they seem to have no rules anymore; every day, I get numerous porn e-mails sent to me and some are very graphic. Also I often have problems connecting. My mom has internet through a local provider for $9.95 per month. I would have to go with cheap, but quality is very important. I would want to be able to log on whenever I wanted, and not have to deal with lots of server problems. If $16.95 were comparable to other quality services, I'd go with the one that gave money to dogs.

I have Two T1 connections at work and use AT&T Global network at home. My work has an agreement with them and all I pay is $4.95 for unlimited access from home. So I would stay where I am. Hope it works out for you though.

I think the price sounds great but then again Im paying $26.00 a month unlimted, Canadian.

That sounds like an amazing idea ! good luck in whatever you decide to do.

with regards to speed there would be 56k dial-up, isdn, dual shotgun modems, and a possibility for satelite and dsl. The email would be filtered so no porn sites would come through. I have always had providers with filters, so I've never had that problem. We currently have cable modem too, so it will be difficult to give that up, but ours is $40 a month, so THAT wouldn't be hard to give up! lol

We came up with the idea to donate because we love animals and we wanted an extra selling point.

You guys have given us some good insight too. I knew I could count on you !!!
