What is your opinion on Karma? I know mine. I do not believe in it one bit. Do I wish it exhisted? YES. Do I honestly believe that it does? NO. Do you?

Oh, I absolutely believe in karma. It may a long time, maybe even longer than one lifetime, to make it's appearance. And we might not ever get to witness it for ourselves, but it happens, as it should.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam
"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
I actually had to Google the word before I could answer. lol
What I read says simplest form of Karma is if you sow goodness you will reap goodness, if you sow evil you will reap evil. Upon further Googling this is in relationship to the quality of your 'reincarnated life' not the present life which I found most people left out in their definitions of Karma.
Since I don't believe in reincarnation I don't believe in Karma. http://www.talkjesus.com/scriptural-...047-karma.html

I believe in Karma but mostly as defined in the Law of Attraction. What you do reflects on you and will manifest in time. I'm not a pollyanna by any stretch but I believe if you think or do things with a negative vibration, it will reflect back on you. I've found this to be my truth. You can agree or not. It's what I've found. If you focus on positive energies and good thoughts and deeds, that will reflect on you as well. I don't believe in fate per se. But I do think that you pave your road.
See my problem with Karma is this. How does it explain children that suffer through extreme child abuse? What did they do to deserve something so awful? Or how about people that are raped? What did they do to suffer something that sever? Or what about child abusers who get off on a technicality? Or murders or so on? Nope. There is way to much of that and no one can convince me that every single one of the criminals that do these acts get what they deserve. And no one can convince me that all the people who suffer from these acts did something to deserve that much pain and suffering.
Sometimes there IS no reason.
Sometimes the answer to "Why?" is simply "Because."
S*** happens.
It's not a question of deserving or not deserving something. IT'S LIFE. And life is just bloody unfair sometimes.
The only good it does is give the best in us a chance to come out in how we react, and what we do (or sometimes, more importantly, DON'T do).

Absolutely. . .it's what I have found in my life as well. When I behave in a way that I know is wrong or my intentions are bad or I try to justify "wrong action" I get slammed!! and it happens almost immediately. Otherwise, I seem to reap great benefit from "right action" and positive, loving behavior. I benefit when others are benefitting from what I do as well.
When you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect. Mark Twain
For me, karma isn't that much different from the biblical teaching of sowing and reaping, ie., you reap what you sow either in this life or the next.

Mary

I can't explain bad things happening to good people. I sometimes think it's a lesson for the rest of us. How many times have we seen good people persever with BAD lots? They are always the ones that inspire us and sometimes I think it makes them better souls than us. Animal world as well. How many times do we see an animal tortured or abused and they are as kind and sweet as the day they were born. Doesn't that teach the rest of us to carry on? I think it's a lesson for the rest of us. While I don't think we arent' given more than we can handle (recent suicides of young people example) I do think it teaches a greater leasson to those left behind. Tolerance, compassion, love, connectedness. All positive.
I believe in this Karma! Who could ever deny it?![]()
I've Been Frosted
I absolutely DO believe in Karma.
Cases in Point: My ex-husband's wife made my life a living hell for 15 years while my daughter was living with them. She's now in a wheelchair with MS.
My "can't really call her a true friend" Pam and I were very close. Then I fell on her slate outside steps and broke my foot in 2 places. I sued the landlord, who happened to be her boyfriend's mother, for medical bills. End of friendship for over 10 years. She, her (now husband) boyfriend, and her daughter all lied under oath at the deposition.
10 years later she called me and made amends. I forgive, but I don't forget.
She's in a lousy marriage. She lives in her condo with her husbands adult daughter (who pays $50/month when she feels like it), he lives in his (now dead) mother's home with his other daughter littered in filth. Pam's health isn't the greatest and she's on alot of meds.
Do I believe in Karma? You bet I do!!!

It's also my belief that karma refers to the good as well as the bad. Do good and you'll get good back; that sowing and reaping thing again. I never forget a kindness and when the time is right, I will repay it in kind. That's also been my experience w/others who have repaid a kindness that I've extended and I received it when I least expected it and needed it most.
Blessings,
Mary
