Bonny, PTSD stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. in WWII days it was called "shell shock"; my uncle had it.

When the movie "Saving Private Ryan" came out, a few WWII vets were invited to see it to comment on its accuracy. Many, if not all, of the viewers had nightmares erupt after seeing it. I have a feeling that PTSD means having the nightmares even when one is awake.

My BFF's fiance was sexually abused by a cousin when he was a young boy...he is about 50 now and still suffers. He has sought no help for it.

Here is Wikipedia's take on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posttra...tress_disorder

    And C-PTSD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex...tress_disorder

Cathy1, I thought it was maybe that but wasn't sure. Didn't want to get attacked if I said the wrong thing. Yah, know things happen like that on here. Sorry about your fiance.

Wombat, You will do anything to get a free cup of coffee.

Bonny - my best friend's fiance has it. She's made of stronger stuff than I. She has laid down the line finally for him to get help...she's exhausted.

If your friend is exhausted now what would it be like if she married him without getting any help? She is doing the right thing for sure, & I hope things turn out good for the both of them.

Could be. But ya can't attribute that to us bunch of crazies.
We wear striped shirts so that we won't be mistaken as pretty nurses by other crazies
