Son's dog, Daisy, didn't make it...:(

I am sorry to report that my son's dog, Daisy, was put to sleep this past monday. He was giving her the enzymes she needed and the other meds the vet had given her, but she just took a turn for the worse. She got to the point where she couldn't get out of her bed and then couldn't even hold her head up. He knew it was time and could not ask her to fight any longer. With great sorrow he took her to the vet and let her go. She is finally at peace. I think my son had most of the fight taken out of him, too. He wanted that dog to get better so bad, but after a while you just know you are defeated. He was afraid she was suffering and he couldn't stand the thought.

Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes and prayers... this is such a lovely forum and your support is so welcomed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Daisy. You're son was an angel for taking such great care of her, especially during this rough time with her health. Rest in Peace Daisy girl, play hard at the bridge.

    Rest in peace, Daisy.

Give you son a good hug from us, he will see her again some day at The Rainbow Bridge, as she knew such love and care from him.

I'm so sorry that Daisy didn't make it. I've been following her story, and looked every day for an update, and possibly good news. I guess it just wasn't meant to be, and your son did the best possible thing he could for her by letting her go. She's now free of pain and ailments, and can run and play happily at Rainbow Bridge.

RIP Daisy, and peace to all of those that loved you.

Your son did the very best he could for her and in the end, gave her the greatest gift.

Here is a card I found online a while back...

Our inability to completely protect and keep from harm those we love is a painful but inherent part of the human condition.

Let solace be taken, however, in knowing that we gave the best we had to our little friends, and that they knew, without an inkling of doubt, that they were deeply loved.

For, beyond all else, that is the greatest gift we give to them, and in turn, the greatest gift they give to us.

Your son did everything he could. If love could have cured Daisy, she would be fine. But it was the right treatment too late.

I hope the vet that didn't bother to check for this has received a report from the other vet of the diagnosis.

Play healthy and free at the Bridge, little Daisy.

I am so sorry. Daisy was such a beautiful little girl. I know your son feels like he has had all his life taken out of him right now. Thoughts and prayers going out. God had a special job for Daisy at the RB.

Awww, I am so sorry to read this. I was hoping so hard she would pull through. Not only for Daisy herself, but also for your son.
I know it was a difficult decision to make, but he absolutely did the right thing for her.

Hugs to you and your son.

    RIP Daisy
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!
